DEFINITION

Pipe fittings are a general term for components in pipeline systems that perform functions such as connection, control, direction change, flow diversion, sealing, and support.

Steel pipe fittings are all pressure-bearing pipe fittings. According to different processing techniques, they are divided into four categories, namely butt-welding pipe fittings (with and without welds), socket-welding and threaded pipe fittings, and flange pipe fittings.

CLASSIFICATION

Classification by purpose

1. Pipe fittings used to connect pipes: flanges, unions, pipe clamps, clamps, ferrules, throat clamps, etc.
2. Pipe fittings that change the direction of pipes: elbows, elbows
3. Pipe fittings that change the diameter of pipes: reducers (reducing pipes), reducing elbows, branch platforms, reinforcing pipes
4. Pipe fittings that increase pipeline branches: tees, crosses
5. Pipe fittings used for pipeline sealing: gaskets, raw tape, hemp, flange blind plates, pipe plugs, blind plates, heads, welding plugs
6. Pipe fittings used to fix pipelines: clamps, towing hooks, lifting rings, brackets, brackets, pipe clamps, etc.

Technology

welded (or solded ) pipe fitting

Pipe fittings connected to pipes by welding. Including elbows, flanges, tees, reducers, caps and other products.
Commonly used for steel pipes, non-ferrous metal pipes, polyvinyl chloride pipes, etc.
Particularly suitable for long pipelines. But not suitable for pipelines that need to be disassembled frequently.
Can be fusion welding or brazing, the latter is mostly used for copper pipes.

Socket welding pipe fittings

Socket welding pipe fittings include tees, crosses, elbows, etc., with threads inside the pipe fittings. Socket welding pipe fittings are mainly formed by forging blanks of round steel or steel ingots, and then processed by lathes.
The socket welding pipe fitting series includes three connection forms: socket welding connection (SW), butt welding connection (BW), threaded connection (TR)

threaded fittings

Threaded pipe fittings are pipe fittings with threads. They are commonly used in water and gas pipes, small diameter water pipes, compressed air pipes and low-pressure steam pipes. They are connected with the threaded pipe ends to form pipelines. The threads can be coated with appropriate adhesives (such as thick white paint, lead monoxide glycerol adhesive, etc.) to ensure sealing.
Mainly include internal thread pipes, external thread pipes, flexible pipe joints, elbows (elbows), tees, crosses (cross heads) and reducers.

Flange pipe fittings

Flange pipe fittings are a type of welded pipe fittings. Such pipe fittings are used to match pipes. Some are processed, and some are not. Some castings are cast with the flanges together. Welded ones are processed later. They can be processed in factories or on construction sites. There are large and small head flange pipe fittings, as well as elbows and tee flange pipe fittings. The materials are also diverse, including carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, etc.
